Who We Are
Chow Chow Rescue of Central New York is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 rescue group started in 2001 by Chow enthusiast Cindy Stone. This rescue was formed out of love for this unique breed and is dedicated to finding forever homes for pure-breed Chows.
What We Do
We are well-networked collection of Chow lovers who diligently work on behalf of Chow Chows across the country. We work to ensure that each Chow we take into our rescue eventually find their forever homes.
- We ensure proper vetting of our Chows
- We have dozens of foster families for our Chows who are awaiting adoption
- We educate people about the joys of the Chow Chow breed
Chow Chow Rescue of Central New York has earned a solid reputation nationwide as one of the best Chow Chow rescues in the US. Through contacts within the Chow Chow community we have rescued and placed over 500 Chows since 2001. The heart of our rescue is Cindy Stone, who founded the rescue and serves as its director. Cindy owns a pet grooming shop in Cicero, New York and regularly shows her personal Chows at events including the Westminster Dog Shows.
Our Success Stories

- Georgia, 2011 – 130+ chows
- Lancaster, 2009 – 32 Chows
